Sarah is a senior knowledge lawyer with nearly 30 years' experience advising clients on intellectual property matters, specialising in complex patent and trade secrets issues in the life sciences, medical devices, and industrials sectors. She has a broad range of expertise across corporate and commercial transactions as well as multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution in the national courts, CJEU, and EPO.
Sarah works at the interface between innovation and the law. During her career Sarah has advised clients from global players to start-ups on their IP commercialisation and enforcement strategies. Originally a partner in another well-known patents practice, she has recently moved into Knowledge Management at Taylor Wessing to provide technical legal support to the Commercialisation team.
Before joining the firm, she headed up the international Intellectual Property and Technology Knowledge team at one of the world's largest law firms, managing projects and issues from across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Middle East with a focus on IP and developing technologies such as AI.
Sarah is co-author of a Report for the European Commission on trade secrets law across the EU which led to the Trade Secrets Directive. For many years Sarah taught on the Oxford University Intellectual Property Diploma on Trade Secrets, Commercial Transactions and Ownership issues. She has also been on the committee for the UK's Intellectual Property Lawyers' Association.
