We have advised Canada Life Asset Management on a GBP148 million loan to LXi REIT plc. With this loan LXi REIT will refinance a mixed-use, UK regional portfolio of commercial property assets, typically let on inflation-linked, long-term leases, providing a diversified, secure income profile, on behalf of Canada Life’s annuity business.

Deutsche Bank Commercial Real Estate Group on its first SONIA loan

Deutsche Bank Commercial Real Estate Group on its first Sterling Over Night Index Average (SONIA) benchmark based loan. This marks not only Deutsche Bank's first alternative rate loan, but also one of the first adoptions of a loan referencing an average of overnight SONIA in the entire market. The benchmark was used an alternative to London Inter-Bank Offered Rate (LIBOR). The loan references a compounded average of SONIA set in arrears with a five business day lag.

Helaba on the new 5 year GBP292.5m loan facility to fund the expansion of MediaCityUK

Helaba, an internationally active German commercial bank, acting as coordinator and agent, alongside other co-lenders on the new 5 year GBP292.5m loan facility to Peel Media in relation to the refinance and expansion of MediaCityUK over the next decade. MediaCityUK is an international destination for technology and innovation, and is home to the likes of the BBC, ITV, dock10 and Ericcson.
