Alex is Counsel in our Real Estate practice group. He specialises in all environmental and planning law aspects of real estate development, real estate acquisitions and real estate operations. Alex assists developers, (international) real estate investors, and retailers in obtaining the necessary permits and government approvals to achieve their real estate goals. Alex has represented his clients in groundbreaking cases regarding the relationship between spatial rules and innovative digital forms of retail, as well as on the limited availability of public subsidies for real estate developments.
Additionally, Alex has a strong focus on general administrative law, including subsidy law, integrity matters, and the openness of government information. In the field of the Wet open overheid (Open Government Act), he assists both market and public parties in the event of politically sensitive information requests.
As a lawyer, Alex has been seconded to the Dutch government and organisations in the energy sector, allowing him to oversee public issues from all angles. With this experience, Alex makes it a point to provide his clients with practical legal advice that can be translated directly into their business.
