Enabling the provision of e-waste services in Israel with Enviroserve

We have advised Enviroserve on an agreement to provide e-waste services in Israel through Shuru.

Shuru is a leading e-scrap recycler in Israel, specialising in the collection and recycling of end-of-life electronics, computer and communication equipment waste.

Enviroserve is a longstanding client of the firm in Dubai, the largest fully integrated electronics recycler and IT asset disposition (ITAD) provider in the Middle East, Africa and Caucasus (MEAC) region, and one of the largest electronics recyclers and processors in the world.

This landmark master agreement enables Enviroserve to provide e-waste services to Shuru’s clients in the MEAC region, and Shuru Ltd. will provide services to EnviroServe’s customers in Israel.

Commenting on this latest expansion, Co-founder and Group CEO of Enviroserve Stuart Fleming said: "We are proud to be one of the first private companies, and indeed, the first E-Waste services company to reach a mutual agreement between our two countries. Considering the Abraham Accord was ratified by the Israeli Knesset and the UAE Parliament just a few weeks ago, this landmark agreement reflects Enviroserve’s vibrant and dynamic approach to support co-operation between the two countries as well as supporting its clients' needs and expanding its global network - a first of its kind in our industry."

"By creating this relationship, we are demonstrating our commitment to the expansion of Enviroserve's network and our passion for working with likeminded organisations abroad. We’ve found a partner that shares our mission to provide ground-breaking solutions to our customers who are already showing interest in this agreement. Shuru Ltd., brings the same level of care and commitment to doing things the right way as we do in all our operations throughout the Middle East, Africa and The Caucasus."

Partner Adnan Chida, who advised Enviroserve, said: "Both companies have affinities in their specialisms and in reputation. This was an important aspect of the agreement, and our relationship with Enviroserve, with an understanding of their culture and growth plans, enabled us to facilitate this exciting deal. More than ever, sustainability is an essential consideration of every business. How businesses prioritise this and their environmental policies can affect their reputation, brand and customer loyalty, and so this latest agreement is an important step in addressing the impact e-waste will have in the region."

He continued: "Obviously, the deal could not have been concluded without the recent progress of the Abraham Accord. The expertise of our team in the UAE and in our international Israel Group, supported by the regional knowledge of Israeli firm Gornitzky & Co, ensures we can continue to navigate the legal, regulatory and political challenges businesses face."

The deal was led by partner Adnan Chida with assistance from Dubi Gross, partner at Israeli law firm Gornitzky & Co, support from the firm's International Israel Group led by Josef Fuss and Nathan Krapivensky, and Head of the firm's Dubai office Osama Hassan was also invaluable.
