Since the above two articles were published, the Home Office has announced that the adjusted right to work regime introduced as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic will end on 20 June 2021. From 21 June 2021 companies will need to undertake non-adjusted checks again. The Home Office has, unexpectedly, confirmed, that those who took advantage of the adjusted Right to Work check regime, do not need to repeat right to work checks for impacted employees hired between 30 March 2020 and 20 June 2021.
