We are pleased to welcome Shervin Shameli to our London Private Equity and Fund Formation team.
Shervin joins from Reed Smith where he was Co-Head of their private funds formation group in London. He has nearly 20 years of industry experience, advising both private fund formation clients and institutional investors. His practice includes the full spectrum of private fund formation work, and he has considerable experience in the establishment and maintenance of investment funds, advising from first time funds through to later vintage/established funds, co-investments, spinouts and joint ventures.
Shervin builds on the firm's strengths as a European market-leader in high-profile private equity, venture capital, corporate real estate and private wealth work.
Ed Waldron, head of private equity, said "I am thrilled to welcome Shervin to Taylor Wessing. His arrival will bolster our global fund formation offering. He is a prominent expert in advising fund managers on all aspects of establishment, structuring, and operation of private investment funds across various asset classes."
Shervin Shameli said "I am excited to be joining Taylor Wessing and by the opportunity to develop a multidisciplinary, go-to funds practice building on the firm's existing strengths in areas like private equity, private wealth, corporate real estate and venture capital. I look forward to continuing and growing my representation of a wide range of fund managers and institutional investors globally. Clients are looking for exactly the kind of strength and depth and commercial approach that Taylor Wessing can offer on a cross-border basis."
This is our fourth partner hire in 2024, following the announcements last month of Ryan Ferry joining the firm to establish a Disputes practice in Dublin, highly experienced ex-Lewis Silkin co-managing partner Giles Crown joining the firm's IP practice in London, and Charlotte Witherington moving from Freshfields to bolster the firm's market leading financial services regulatory capability.
