Advising on acquisition of world-leading e-commerce platform Skimlinks

We have advised the world's largest commerce content monetisation platform, Skimlinks, on its acquisition by leading customer acquisition platform Connexity.

The combined companies will create the largest independent customer acquisition channel for e-commerce, with a reach driving nearly $2.5 billion in commerce per year.

Mark Barron, Corporate Technology partner at Taylor Wessing, said: "Skimlinks and Connexity both lead the way in their own verticals of e-commerce. Skimlinks' sophisticated platform and client list, which include half of the top content publishers in the world, combined with Connexity's exclusive set of advertising channels will create an incredibly compelling proposition for online publishers. The combined company has a very bright future. For our corporate technology team, it adds to a long line of significant deals within this industry vertical, and we continue on the path of what has been a stellar year for us."

Sebastien Blanc, CEO of Skimlinks, said: "This transaction is a milestone moment for Skimlinks, and will fortify Connexity as a critical customer acquisition channel for retailers and will strengthen publisher monetization solutions. Taylor Wessing provided outstanding service from beginning to end, and we can't recommend them highly enough."

The Taylor Wessing team was led by partner Mark Barron and senior associate Siobhán Langwade (Corporate Technology), and included: associate Rebecca Le Flufy, paralegal Sarah Palmer, trainee solicitor Nell Cooper (Corporate Technology); partners Ann Casey and Graham Samuel-Gibbon, and associate Madison Lawler (Tax); partner Graham Hann, and associates Rachel Jones and Mary Rendle (Commercial Technology & Data); senior associate Simon Jupp (IP & Media); partners Paul Callaghan and Mark Smith, and senior associates Joe Aiston and Hadassah Shulman (Employment, Mobility & Pensions).
