Games Industry Law Summit's Legal Challenge VII

Mehr

Games Industry Law Summit's Legal Challenge is an annual moot court focused on the matters of the international games industry.

Taking place for the seventh time, this year's fictitious case involves a contractual dispute between a video game developer and a software tools company. 21 teams entered Legal Challenge VII, with 15 teams remaining at the current stage competing for four spots in the semifinals.

We've joined forces with our strategic alliance partner ECIJA to take part, represented by an international games sector team consisting of Laura Craig from Taylor Wessing UK; Gonçalo Oliveira Martins from ECIJA Portugal; and María Laura Acosta Rincón from ECIJA Spain, who make up team Ctrl+Alt+Defend. They submitted their Memorandum for the Respondent on 16 February and must now wait until 5 March to find out if they've made it to the semifinals.

Two teams will then go head-to-head in the final on 22 March, with this year's winner announced on the same day. 15 practicing in-house and law firm experts from 13 different countries make up this year's judging panel, bringing a wealth of litigation experience in the context of different legal systems.

We're cheering on team Ctrl+Alt+Defend and have our fingers crossed for them to secure a place in the semifinals!
