Vinted become latest European Unicorn after closing €128 million Series E round financing

International law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Vinted, Europe's largest online international C2C marketplace dedicated to second-hand fashion, on its €128 million Series E round financing which values the company at over €1 billion.

The round was led by new investor Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing backers including Sprints Capital, Insight Venture Partners, Accel and Burda Principal Investments.

This complex transaction drew on the deep expertise offered by the firm’s corporate, commercial employment, financial regulation, IP and tax practice areas.

Angus Miln, partner and head of the UK Corporate Technology group, said: "Vinted is a leading player in the online clothing marketplace across Europe. I am delighted that our multidisciplinary team was able to influence this transaction so positively, and drive it towards such a successful conclusion. We look forward to developing our close partnership with Vinted as this exciting business continues to evolve."

Julius Vainoris, General Counsel at Vinted added: "We are truly thrilled with the outstanding work that the Taylor Wessing team provided in advising us on this Series E funding round. They went above and beyond to support us with strategic advice, and their in-depth market expertise gave us an invaluable competitive advantage. We greatly enjoyed working with them."

The Taylor Wessing team representing Vinted in the fundraising was led by partner and head of the UK Corporate Technology group Angus Miln with the support of corporate associates Victor Chang and Sam Holdsworth and paralegal Jess Nobes.

Partners Vinod Bange and Sian Skelton, senior counsel Elaine Fletcher, senior associate Jean-David Behlow and associate Matthew Ives from the firm's Commercial Technology and Data group and partner Charlotte Hill and associate Katie Fry-Paul from the firm's Financial Services and Competition group also worked on the deal. Partner and head of the Employment, Pensions & Mobility group Paul Callaghan and senior associate James Watkins provided employment advice. Tax work was provided by partner Ann Casey and paralegal Marianna Vlas and IP work was provided by partner Adam Rendle and associate Alice Anderson.

The Taylor Wessing team worked in partnership with Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati (WSGR), whose team was led by partner Stacy Kim and associate Amanda Pollard.
