Dr. Marcel Leines

Marcel is focused on private equity and corporate industrials. He advises PE investors (especially on buyouts and exits) as well as national and international corporations, mid-sized companies and family businesses on national and cross-border M&A deals. Marcel has deep industry knowledge across a bunch of sectors, especially chemicals and automotive.

In addition, he is specialized in advising and coordinating in relation to W&I insurance policies and heads Taylor Wessing's Germany-wide W&I team.

DEUTZ AG strengthens defense division with Taylor Wessing

Taylor Wessing is once again providing comprehensive legal advice to Cologne-based DEUTZ AG, a leading global engine manufacturer, on its full acquisition of SOBEK Group GmbH (SOBEK). Based in Hirschberg, SOBEK is a leading developer and manufacturer of high-precision electric drive systems, which are used in unmanned aerial systems and military drones, among other applications. In the civilian sector, its customer industries include motorsports, medical technology, and robotics.

Steadfast Capital Fund IV on the acquisition of a majority stake in Söhngen Group

Steadfast Capital Fund IV on the acquisition of a majority stake in Söhngen Group. The transaction included both W. Söhngen GmbH based in Taunusstein (Hesse) and Silva GmbH based in Mainhausen (Hesse). The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The majority acquisition aims to support further growth of the Söhngen Group with its internationally recognised brands and premium products in the market for first aid and emergency medical products both organically and through acquisitions. We also advised on the financing of the acquisition.
