Led by Hamburg-based partner Dr Mark Hoenike, Taylor Wessing has provided comprehensive legal advice to leading basic wear retailer Snocks on the acquisition of assets from insolvent Berlin-headquarterd FEMTIS GmbH, a provider of period underwear. In November 2024, Taylor Wessing had already advised Snocks on the acquisition of the active wear brand OceansApart, managed by insolvent Rise Up Fahsion GmbH.
Snocks is a German company that specialises in the production and distribution of high-quality basic apparel such as socks, underwear and clothing. It was founded in 2016 by cousins Johannes Kliesch and Felix Bauer in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg. In addition to various sock models, the product range also includes boxer shorts, vests and leggings. With over 100 employees at the Mannheim and Hamburg sites, the company generated a turnover of around 70 million euros in 2023.
FEMTIS GmbH, based in Berlin, is an online retailer specialising in sustainable clothing and FemTech. Founded in 2018, femtis is Germany's first online shop for period underwear and is committed to comfort, safety and sustainability during menstruation. The core products are period panties made from certified organic cotton, which do not contain biocides and are available in many different sizes - from 3XS to 6XL. In February of this year, Charlottenburg Local Court ordered provisional insolvency administration over the company's assets.
