Katie is a senior associate in the Banking and finance group. She has a broad range of experience on leveraged and acquisition financing transactions and advises clients on general corporate finance matters, structured financings and derivatives, asset and receivables based lending, as well as distressed debt and restructuring.
Katie acts for both borrowers (including start-ups, sponsor backed borrowers and public listed companies) and lenders (including non-bank lenders) with a particular focus on advising corporate borrowers on leveraged and structured financings and asset based lenders on receivables financings. Katie regularly works on multi-jurisdictional transactions across a variety of EU jurisdictions and transatlantic matters meaning she has a broad experience across a range of international loan markets.
Katie has also worked with a number of clients with regulated businesses in the context of their refinancings and corporate M&A transactions.
Katie is also part of the firm's Africa group and has worked on a number of transactions with an African nexus as well as spending time in South Africa gaining an appreciation of doing business in Africa generally.

Advised a client on the bespoke debt restructuring of its multi-jurisdictional group including traditional secured and unsecured loans, notes issuances, convertible loan notes and receivables financings owed to 15 lender entities.
Advising the senior secured creditor on all aspects of the British Steel insolvency and restructuring and on the complex GBP130m FILO (first-in-last-out) asset based finance structure; we were awarded Finance Team of the Year at the Lawyer awards 2020 for this work.
