Fawaz is a Senior Counsel* who advises a wide range of investment managers and sponsors on all aspects of structuring, formation and operations of private equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds and investment fund platforms.
He also acts for investors in these funds and his practice includes advising a number of international family offices on their strategic investments. He also advises his clients on co-investment structures, carried interest arrangements, secondary transactions and fund restructurings. He has particular expertise in respect of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and offshore funds.
Fawaz joined Taylor Wessing as a consultant in 2023. During his career, he was a partner at a global offshore law firm where he worked in their Dubai and Bermuda offices. He was also in-house counsel for one of Canada’s largest pension fund managers in Montréal, Canada. He started his international career at a magic circle law firm in London. As a qualified attorney in England and Wales and Québec (Canada), he has broad commercial and corporate law experience including shareholders and joint venture arrangements and PE and VC downstream transactions.
