Under the lead of Stephan Doom (Salary Partner, M&A, Frankfurt), the international law firm Taylor Wessing advised International Chemical Investors S.E. (ICIG) on the acquisition of inprotec AG. In this transaction, the private equity company Paragon Partners and its minority shareholders sold 100% of the shares in inprotec AG to ICIG. The transaction is subject to customary antitrust clearance and the closing is expected to be completed in November.
International Chemical Investors is a privately-owned industrial group with total revenues of approximately 4 billion euros. ICIG focuses on three main platforms: Fine Chemicals under the WeylChem brand, Chlorovinyls (PVC) under the Vynova brand and Enterprises, which includes specialised companies active in fermentation products, viscose filaments, activated carbon and wood preservation chemicals (including "Corden BioChem", "ENKA", "CarboTech" and "Rütgers Organics"). Since its foundation in 2004, ICIG has grown to more than 20 independent chemical and pharmaceutical companies. Today, the ICIG companies employ approximately 4,500 people and operate more than 28 production facilities in Europe and the United States.
