Led by Hamburg-based partner Carsten Bartholl, the international law firm Taylor Wessing has once again advised the asset manager CEE Group on a renewable energy transaction: The Hamburg-based CEE Group, which specialises in renewable energies, is further expanding its photovoltaic portfolio and acquiring a solar park in the district of Börde in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The transaction was realised via investments of the funds CEE Renewable Fund 7 and CEE Renewable Fund 8 (CEE RF7 and CEE RF8), managed by CEE. Construction of the solar project began in September 2024, with commissioning scheduled for April 2025.
Taylor Wessing was involved in the transaction as legal and KYC/ABC advisor as well as Evergy as technical advisor. The project is being financed by DAL Deutsche Anlagen-Leasing (DAL) together with Nord/LB.
With a total nominal output of 102 MWp, the solar park will supply enough energy to power 47,500 households with green energy. The seller of the project is Sunovis, a German project developer that has been developing solar projects in Germany for over 10 years. Under a 20-year PPA that has already been concluded, 80 percent of the energy generated will be sold at an attractive fixed price.
The CEE Group is a Hamburg-based asset manager specialising in renewable energies. With a track record of over 104 transactions and approx. 2.2 GW(p) of total nominal output in the renewable energy sector and a portfolio of around EUR 2.6 billion in assets under management in Europe, CEE is a competent and reliable partner.
As an international company, the CEE Group offers its customers sustainable investment concepts with long-term return opportunities in the growth market for renewable energies. With its independently operating companies, the company has a comprehensive range of services for projects in this segment. Investors are primarily institutional investors with a long-term interest in renewable energies.
