Taylor Wessing advises Encavis Asset Management AG on the acquisition of a wind farm in Lower-Saxony

Encavis Asset Management AG (Encavis AM) acquired the wind farm “Gieboldhausen” in Germany. Taylor Wessing's energy team led by Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl provided Encavis AM with legal advice on the acquisition. The German wind farm "Gieboldehausen" is located in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony. Eight Vestas wind turbines with a total nominal output of 28.5 megawatts were build and commissioned between 2016 and 2019. The turbines were planned by the energy park developer UKA, who will continue the technical wind park management via UKB Umweltgerechte Kraftanlagen Betriebsführung.

The renewable energy farms have been acquired by the Encavis Infrastructure Fund II Renewables Europe II (EIF II). The fund targets financial institutions wishing to invest in a diversified portfolio of solar and wind farms in Europe and is administered by HANSAINVEST Lux S.A.

The international commercial law firm Taylor Wessing had already successfully advised Encavis AM on several transactions involving generation plants for renewable energies in recent years. These are not isolated cases: Last year, the energy team of the law firm again accompanied renewable energy projects with a scope of more than 2,500 MW in various development phases in Europe and overseas.
