Flink SE, the Berlin-based on-demand grocery delivery service, has raised $750 million (approximately €670 million) in investment capital in a Series B financing round. This moves the company, which reached a pre-money valuation of $2.1 billion within less than seven months of operations, to multiple unicorn status. The round of capital providers was led by Doordash, market leader for on-demand delivery services in the United States, with Mubadala Capital and further new and existing investors participating. As with previous funding rounds in March and June this year, the growth company was advised by international law firm Taylor Wessing, led by Berlin-based partner Norman Röchert, on all legal matters related to the Series B funding round.
Founded in December 2020, the app-based delivery service currently offers instant delivery of fresh groceries by e-bike in more than 60 European cities from a standalone infrastructure with more than 140 hubs. With the fresh capital, the Berlin-based company intends to push ahead with the opening of new locations. The start-up is supported by REWE Group as a cooperation partner for the purchase of goods and logistical planning.
