Taylor Wessing advises Qualitas Energy on its acquisition of a majority stake in a 65 MW wind farm in Eastern Germany

Under the leadership of Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl, the international law firm Taylor Wessing provided comprehensive legal advice to Qualitas Energy, a global investment and management platform focused on renewable energy, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure investment, on the acquisition of a 55 percent stake in the project rights for the repowering of a wind farm in Eastern Germany from the Danish renewable energy company European Energy.

In addition to the transfer of project rights, both parties have established a joint development partnership for the repowering of the existing turbines. The objective is to install a capacity of more than 60 MW, effectively doubling the existing one. The installation of modern turbine technologies is intended to allow the supply of more than 43,000 households in the future, marking a fourfold increase. Simultaneously, this initiative aims to enhance efficiency by reducing the overall number of turbines.
