The EU Data Act is one of the key new pieces of legislation governing the European data economy. The Data Act came into force in January 2024 and requires companies to implement new rules on data use, data sharing, and data access. Companies now have until September 12, 2025, to adapt their data structures, contracts, and processes to the new requirements.
