Taylor Wessing advises wefox Austria on acquisition of VMK Versicherungsmakler

Taylor Wessing has advised insurtech company wefox on its 100% acquisition of VMK Versicherungsmakler GmbH. wefox views the acquisition as an important milestone and a clear signal to the Austrian market. As part of the transaction, wefox is launching a new succession offering for insurance brokers in Austria and has established wefox Austria Holding GmbH as an investment holding company and sister company of the operational wefox Austria GmbH – a formation that was also legally supported by Taylor Wessing.

The advice to wefox was provided by a Taylor Wessing Vienna team led by partner Philip Hoflehner (Corporate). He was supported by partner Allan Hahn, senior associate Silvia Schenner and associate Eda Koc (all Corporate). The advisory team also included partner Karolin Andréewitch-Wallner and associate Nadja Taneva-Rask (Employment), partner Michaela Petritz-Klar (Tax), counsel Verena Stagl (Competition), as well as senior associate Christopher Bakier and associate Teresa Grünvaldska (IP/IT).

The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

As a long-standing wefox partner, VMK has been using the partner portal since 2018 and now contributes valuable expertise with tailored insurance solutions for selected industries, including architects, automotive businesses, yacht owners and technical trades.
