Under the leadership of its Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl, the International law firm Taylor Wessing advised the renewable asset manager CEE Group on another renewable energy transaction. Hamburg-based CEE Group acquired the Jülich Barmen-Merzenhausen and the Jülich Ost wind farms (North Rhine Westphalia), which are currently still under development and construction, from Energiekontor AG at the beginning of July 2021. The wind farms are being built on land belonging to the town districts of the same name in the district of Düren. The wind farm Jülich Barmen-Merzenhausen consists of three Nordex turbines of the type N149-4.5, Jülich Ost consists of one turbine of the same type. With a total rated output of 18 MW, the expected annual yield of the wind farms is around 48 million kilowatt hours; this covers the electricity requirements of about 20,000 average German households. The wind farms is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of the year and in spring 2022 respectively.
CEE Group is a Hamburg-based asset manager specializing in renewable energy. With assets under management of around €1.9 billion, the company invests in power generation projects in the wind and solar sectors. CEE Group holds onshore wind farms with an installed capacity of around 595.2 MW as well as photovoltaic plants with around 473 MWp. The CEE portfolio that currently comprises 42 onshore wind farms and 32 solar parks. Total electricity generation in 2020 amounted to approximately 1.4 billion kilowatt hours.
