International healthcare provider Medicover has acquired AWO Krankenhaus in Calbe, Saxony-Anhalt, via the operating company AWO Gesundheitszentrum Calbe (Saale) GmbH. Led by Frankfurt based partner Michael Stein, the international law firm Taylor Wessing has provided legal advice to Medicover on the transaction.
AWO Krankenhaus Calbe provides for 108 beds in two geriatric and two internal medicine units and treats around 2,100 inpatients per year with over 125 employees. The hospital is included in the hospital plan of the state of Saxony-Anhalt as a hospital for internal medicine with a geriatric focus.
