The Prague and Munich offices of Taylor Wessing have advised US company VINTECH Industries Inc. on acquiring parts of the enterprise of REHAU Automotive, s.r.o., which specialises in producing polymer moldings and sealing. The acquisition concerned REHAU Automotive’s site in Jevíčko, Moravia and further expands VINTECH’s European market presence.
VINTECH Industries is a leading supplier of plastic components to the automotive industry, with this step it keeps growing its European production network, first established when it opened its Portuguese branch in 2018. First founded in 2004, with its headquarters in Imlay City, Michigan, the company employs around 600 people in automotive innovation and technology across seven manufacturing sites in the United States, Mexico, China and Portugal.
„Thanks to the expertise of the Taylor Wessing team we’ve successfully closed a complex acquisition while ensuring seamless business continuity. The support of the law firm's team was particularly helpful in dealing with the specific cross-border legal issues relating to the takeover of both the business and its employees, as well as customer and supplier relationships,“ said Gernot Mindrup, Vice President of VINTECH Industries Inc.
Jim Schoonover, President of VINTECH Industries Inc., stated: “The Czech site perfectly complements our European production network, offering us even more opportunities. We are excited to welcome our new colleagues, customers and suppliers into the VINTECH family.“
The acquisition of the REHAU Automotive division, specializing in the development and production of thermoplastic extruded sealing and water systems, will give VINTECH greater access to the European market and strengthen its ability to respond to the needs of global automotive manufacturers.
„We are delighted to have been able to contribute to the successful completion of the transaction, which will significantly strengthen our client's presence in the European market and enable the important strategic expansion of the VINTECH Group," says Thomas Rechberger, Partner at Taylor Wessing, commenting on the transaction.
