Taylor Wessing confirms the appointment of Patricia McCarvill as the firm's first dedicated Tax Partner in its Dublin office. Patricia joins from another leading international firm, beginning her tenure at Taylor Wessing in April 2024 to lead the firm’s new Irish tax practice.
Patricia's arrival further enhances Taylor Wessing's Irish offering, following the recent hire of Ryan Ferry in Disputes and Investigations, as well as Banking and Finance lead Libby Garvey, and Real Estate lead Órlaith Molloy, in 2023.
Patricia is particularly versatile, being known for her extensive experience in respect of all tax heads and in multiple sectors. She is renowned for her expertise in M&A, cross-border restructurings and reorganisations, share schemes, banking, structured finance/debt capital markets, asset management and investment funds, VAT and tax disputes.
Since establishing a presence in Ireland in 2021, Taylor Wessing has built a robust offering, encompassing corporate, banking and finance, real estate, technology, IP and data privacy capabilities, supporting clients in a wide range of sectors, including technology, life sciences and healthcare, real estate and private wealth.
The Taylor Wessing Dublin office is experiencing considerable growth and demand across its practice areas, with a number of other significant new hires. Seán Carroll, senior associate, and Shannon Buckley Barnes, associate, will add further strength to the Disputes and Investigations team. Sarah Kelly, senior associate, and Bríd Kenny, associate, have joined to further grow and develop the Real Estate team. Laura Brohan, associate, has also joined to strengthen the Banking and Finance team.
Adam Griffiths, Head of Taylor Wessing's Dublin office, said: "Patricia's appointment is a landmark moment for our Irish office. Launching our dedicated tax practice is a key part of our strategic objective to support our clients at each stage of their business journey. I look forward to seeing Patricia lead our tax offering, strengthening the firm's reputation in Ireland and internationally as we continue to provide best-in-class service to all our clients.
