MP AG was acquired through the Sustainable Infrastructure Fund II. B Capital is entering the German smart metering market with the acquisition of the company.

MP AG is a leading smart metering company in Germany. The company invests in heat and water meters and leases them on a long-term basis to property owners and property management companies. In this context, MP AG also offers maintenance and billing services.

The transaction highlights B Capital's successful investment strategy of focusing on the small and medium sized energy transition market in Europe, which is driving the decarbonization of the economy. As part of the expansion of its smart metering services platform in Germany, B Capital is seeking to acquire additional smart metering companies from owners who are exploring strategic options due to the increasing regulatory requirements in the industry.
