International law firm Taylor Wessing advises the Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas on the negotiations for the German offshore wind project Nordseecluster. Vestas has been appointed as preferred supplier for the supply, installation, service and maintenance of the turbines with negotiations of the project agreements to follow.
The agreements with the joint venture of RWE (Germany) and Northland Power (Canada) provide for the supply and installation of at least 104 turbines of the type V236-15.0 MW with a rotor diameter of 236 meters, including service and maintenance.
The Nordseecluster is located in the German North Sea and comprises a total of four offshore wind farm sites north of the island of Juist. The entire offshore wind project will have a total installed capacity of up to 1.6 GW.
All deliverables are subject to the final investment decision for the individual phases of Nordseecluster (A and B).
Henning von der Blumensaat, LL.M. (Emory) and Dr Janina Pochhammer advise Vestas on the drafting and negotiation of the operation & maintenance contracts. Within the Projects, Energy & Infrastructure practice group, both focus on large-scale infrastructure projects within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on offshore wind.
