Under the leadership of Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl, the international law firm Taylor Wessing advised 1-4-9 Invest Fonds GmbH & Co. KG and Karlsson GmbH on their VC investment in Leviathan GmbH.
With the VC investment in Leviathan GmbH (www.leviathan.eu), 1-4-9 Invest and Karlsson are investing in a company that has set itself the goal of emission-free and green ship recycling in order to be able to offer ship owners and ship financiers a clean and sustainable solution at the end of a ship's life cycle. Leviathan GmbH is the first ESG-compliant and virtually emission-free ship recycling company in Germany and Europe. The recycled ships are turned into high-quality raw materials ("green steel") that are delivered to a sustainable circular economy, realising substantial CO2 savings while supporting European raw material security.
