Taylor Wessing advises CEE Group on the acquisition of the wind farm Hainstadt-Buchen

Under the leadership of its Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl, the International law firm Taylor Wessing advised the renewable asset manager CEE Group on another renewable energy transaction. Hamburg-based CEE Group is expanding its wind power portfolio with four wind turbines in the north of Baden-Württemberg. There, the company has purchased the newly developing wind farm Hainstadt-Buchen from ABO Wind AG. Located in the Neckar-Odenwald district, the wind farm consists of four Vestas V126 wind turbines with a hub height of 149 meters. The total capacity of the four turbines is 13.8 MW, and the expected electricity generation is 31 million kWh per year. The seller of the turbines is ABO Wind AG, based in Wiesbaden, Germany. The four new wind turbines will produce clean electricity for about 26,000 people, saving about 24,000 tons of carbon dioxide annually in the future. The commercial law firm Taylor Wessing and the consulting firm Evergy Engineering GmbH acted as legal and technical advisors respectively in this transaction.

CEE Group is a Hamburg-based asset manager specializing in renewable energy. With a track record of over 80 transactions in the renewable energy sector and a portfolio of over two billion euros in assets under management in Europe, CEE is a competent and reliable partner. Since its inception, CEE’s main focus has been on wind and solar energy. The CEE Group has 44 onshore wind turbines with an installed capacity of around 622 MW and 38 photovoltaic plants with around 718 MWp. The total capacity thus amounts to around 1,340 MW.

As an internationally operating company, the CEE Group offers its customers sustainable investment concepts with long-term return opportunities in the growth market for renewable energies. With its independently operating companies, the company has a comprehensive range of services for projects in this segment. Investors are in particular institutional investors with a long-term interest in renewable energies.

ABO Wind successfully develops and constructs wind and solar farms. Founded in 1996, the Wiesbaden-based company has so far implemented plants with a capacity of 4,000 megawatts and has built around half of them. The annual investment volume amounts to 500 million euros. More than 900 employees in 16 countries work with enthusiasm on the planning, financing, construction, operational management and servicing of plants for a sustainable energy supply.
