30 September 2021
Under the leadership of Paris partner Nicolas de Witt and Hamburg partner Carsten Bartholl, the international law firm Taylor Wessing provided comprehensive legal advice to Encavis Asset Management AG ("Encavis AM") on the acquisition of five operational wind farms across France. The 74.51 MW portfolio comprises 29 turbines across the regions of Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle Aquitaine, and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, including 14.4 MW in Ablaincourt, 12 MW in Brillac, 22.11 MW in La Brousse and Bagnizeau, 14 MW in Leigné-les-Bois, and 12 MW in Yrouerre. Each wind farm in the portfolio was originated and commissioned by Axpo’s development subsidiary, Volkswind, between January-June 2021, with an annual production capacity totalling 175 GWh, or the annual demand of 37,000 households in the region.
The newly acquired assets will be contributed to the Encavis Infrastructure Fund II, a special fund launched by Encavis AM. The investment offer is aimed at credit institutions that want to invest in a diversified portfolio of wind and solar parks in Europe. The special fund is administered by HANSAINVEST Lux S.A.
Taylor Wessing has already successfully advised Encavis AM on various transactions involving renewable energy generation assets in recent years.
