Zentrum Gesundheit, a portfolio company of NORD Holding and the leading ophthalmology group in Lower Saxony, has acquired a majority stake in the Munich-based REALEYES Group. REALEYES is the market leader among premium providers of ophthalmology services in the Greater Munich area, with 126 employees at 21 sites. REALEYES offers a broad spectrum of medical treatment, as well as a growing range of refractive services.
Led by Frankfurt based partner Michael Stein, the international law firm Taylor Wessing, has provided comprehensive legal advice on the transaction. Taylor Wessing has already advised NORD Holding on the acquisition of Zentrum Gesundheit in 2019. In early 2021, Taylor Wessing advised Zentrum Gesundheit on the acquisition of Klinik Flechsig, a clinic for ear, nose and throat diseases in Kiel, which is included in the current hospital plan of the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
The Taylor Wessing team repeatedly demonstrated its cross-disciplinary expertise in Healthcare M&A, regulatory and acquisition finance in this deal. This transaction once again demonstrates the firm's successful positioning in the field of Healthcare M&A - also for private equity investors - and thus the implementation of its long-standing strategy.
