Taylor Wessing appoints new Managing Partner in Dubai

Taylor Wessing has appointed Osama Hassan as the Managing Partner of its Dubai office and Head of the Middle East region.

Osama joins the firm from today (1 December 2019) and will lead new growth opportunities. He returns to the firm after serving as Head of Corporate for Taylor Wessing Dubai up to 2011. Previously, he was the head of the Middle East group and the corporate practice in the region for Pinsent Masons.

Osama has practised for over 30 years and is a leading figure for prominent businesses and reputable individuals in the region, and international organisations looking to expand in the UAE.

Technology Media and Communications and Private Wealth are two of Taylor Wessing's core international sectors. Osama has an excellent network comprising wealthy families, corporates, government departments and intermediaries. The extensive connections he has established will support the firm's development of its platform for local work in TMC, private wealth and with its wider practice in the region.

Welcoming Osama to the firm, current Managing Partner of the Dubai office, Jerry Parks said: “I am delighted to welcome back to Taylor Wessing my friend and colleague Osama Hassan. Osama will join us as the Managing Partner of the Dubai office and head of the Middle East region and will also lead the corporate team. He brings a wealth of local and regional experience as well as an impressive client following built up over the last 30 years in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I very much look forward to working with him again and taking the Taylor Wessing Middle East offering to a new level.’’

UK Managing Partner Shane Gleghorn commented: "Osama is widely recognised in the UAE market. We have a long-established platform in Dubai and our international client base has evolved significantly in TMC and private wealth. These are areas that we are known for being strong in and Osama's experience across family owned businesses and technology in the region are hard to compete with. We are really looking forward to welcoming him back as our new Managing Partner of Taylor Wessing Dubai and as Head of the Middle East region for the firm."

Osama Hassan said: ‘’I am delighted to be back at Taylor Wessing and excited about the many opportunities the restructured and fully ME integrated operation and capabilities will offer our clients and my contacts. I come back to a larger international offering with a sizable US presence and connections. I also look forward to working with my friend Jerry and others to grow the regional offering of Taylor Wessing.’’

Osama brings with him Aarshi Mahajan, who joins the firm as a paralegal.
