We have advised Zeelo, a transportation-as-a-service provider, on its US$23 million series B funding to scale its AI-powered platform and accelerate US growth.
Zeelo provides daily commuter transportation leveraging a network of 650+ vetted third-party operator partners with access to over 10,000 vehicles. It has delivered over 175% year-on-year revenue growth in North America, alongside profitability in its core UK & Ireland market. The company’s AI-powered virtual transportation management workflow enables greater operational efficiency, lower cost-to-serve, and a significantly enhanced customer experience.
The US$23 million series B funding will be used to accelerate growth in North America and strengthen its UK and Ireland's market share, enhance its AI-powered transport management platform, expand its autonomous vehicle partnerships, and pursue further M&A strategy. The fundraising round was led by Blue Earth Capital, with participation from Direttissima Growth Partners and the family office of Peter Bauer.
Commenting on the transaction, corporate partner, Howard Palmer said: "It was a pleasure working with Zeelo and we're excited to see what's more to come in their growth journey, driving forward the future of shared mobility that is powered by clean energy and designed by AI technology."
CEO, Sam Ryan comments, "With this new investment, we’re scaling our impact – delivering inclusive mobility programs that not only reduce CO₂ emissions and car dependency, but also connect people to work and education in areas not served by public transits. The Taylor Wessing team was instrumental in the transaction and have worked seamlessly as part of our team to achieve our desired results and ensured the smooth completion of the transaction. Their commercial sense stood out particularly as they understood our business and were therefore able to provide critical advice during the process."
