The RTL Group is now the owner of all the shares in Divimove GmbH and has completely taken over the company. The international law firm Taylor Wessing advised the the founders of the online video company Divimove with a team led by the Berlin Partner Norman Röchert. The take-over of the remaining 24,5 percent of the shares also means that the founders Brian Ruhe, Philipp Bernecker and Sebastiaan van Dam will step down from their management functions at the end of the year.
The RTL Group first acquired shares in Divimore five years ago with an initial stake of 26 percent. Just one year later in 2014, the media group increased its shareholding to 51 percent. At this point in time, Divimove was already Europe’s leading multi-platform network. In April 2016 the RTL Group decided to acquire a further 24,5 percent of the shares in Divimore which increased the Group’s participation to 75,5 percent.
Divimove remains at the forefront of European multi-platform networks and in 2018 achieved 11,5 billion video clicks. The influencer network of the company with 900 partners in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and Spain currently has more than 300 million subscribers.
