Taylor Wessing provided comprehensive legal advice to thyssenkrupp on the sale of its Automation Engineering business unit to Agile Robots SE. The transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed in the coming months.
Automation Engineering is an internationally recognised specialist in special-purpose machinery engineering for product-specific automation solutions. The sale of Automation Engineering is part of the reorganisation of thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology decided in July.
Agile Robots is a fast-growing technology company based in Munich that combines robotics and artificial intelligence to create industrial solutions. The new division of Agile Robots SE will operate under the name "Krause Automation" as a system provider offering end-to-end solutions ranging from intelligent components to turnkey systems.
thyssenkrupp was advised by a Taylor Wessing team led by Dr Jan Riebeling and co-led by Dr Amir-Said Ghassabeh.
