DressX partners with Zepeto to launch digital-only wearables collection
Zepeto, Asia’s biggest metaverse platform, is partnering with metaverse fashion retailer DressX to launch a collection of digital wearables. Monica Quin, Zepeto’s own virtual influencer, will create five unique looks using her signature colour palette. These looks will be able to be worn by Zepto’s avatars, as well as by users in an augmented reality setting in the DressX app. > Read more
Venice Immersive explores the Metaverse as a new Artistic Medium
Just a short distance away from the Venice International Film Festival, an interactive metaverse exhibition called “Venice Immersive” will be held this September. The multi-sensory haptic experience includes 360° videos, XR works, installations, virtual worlds and live performances, with visitors even being able to take part in “world hopping”. The curators hope to showcase what the future holds for virtual storytelling and the new mediums open to film makers and the public. > Read more

Meta links Instagram’s NFT posts to Facebook as the market for ‘digital collectibles’ tanks
Meta has begun rolling out new features for NFT owners on Instagram and Facebook. After a digital wallet has been linked, posts containing blockchain elements will receive a badge marking them as a “digital collectible”, however they will supposedly look like normal posts. Meta has also published information about protecting Meta accounts, as linking NFTs to social media platforms could increase the risk of phishing attempts directed towards digital wallets. > Read more
Hermès reveals plans for Metaverse fashion shows, crypto and NFTs
Hermès has filed multiple trade mark application for NFTs, cryptocurrencies, and virtual goods and marketplaces. This move towards the metaverse comes months after suing Metabirkins founder Mason Rothschild for trade mark infringement for the creation of NFTs of Hermès’ famous Birkin bag, however Hermès is by no means the first designer brand incorporating the metaverse into its business strategy, with other designer companies such as Tiffany, Prada and Gucci already having entered the metaverse. > Read more

The R3al Metaverse is a new scripted video series starring Ethereum-based NFT avatars. The avatars play housemates that are adjusting to the real world after stepping out of the metaverse. The show is also designed to be interactive, with fans being able to by a producer pass NFT to help shape the storyline or feature their NFT in a cameo role. > Read more
