Taylor Wessing advises sennder on billion-dollar joint venture with Poste Italiane

Europe's market-leading digital freight carrier sennder Technologies GmbH ("sennder") and Italy's leading postal service provider, Poste Italiane S.p.a. ("Poste Italiane"), are deepening their cooperation: the two companies' joint venture, which has been operating in Italy since 2020, will continue for ten years with an expected volume of €2.3 billion. At the same time, Poste Italiane has increased its stake in sennder to around 10 percent. A Taylor Wessing team led by Hamburg partner Dr Jens Wolf advised sennder on all legal aspects of the transaction.

In future, sennder will be the majority owner of the joint venture holding 75 percent and will further integrate the joint venture into its European platform. Poste Italiane will continue to benefit from full GPS visibility of trucks, state-of-the-art automation technology and reduced carbon emissions by vehicles running on alternative fuels.
