Multimillion pound deal for historic Barnsdale Hall Hotel

We have advised on the sale of Rutland’s renowned Barnsdale Hall Hotel on behalf of trustees for a guide price of £10m.

The historic hotel, which was first constructed in 1890 as the hunting lodge of the 6th Earl Fitzwilliam, is set in 55 acres and was previously owned by Derek Penman, chairman of the Penman Group.

Partner Edward Story, who led the deal, commented:

It's been a privilege to work with the trustees and the Knight Frank team on this sale. Given the exceptional circumstances and challenging market, completing this sale underlines our team's tireless work to secure a successful outcome for our clients. The Patel family have acquired a truly exceptional resort and it was a pleasure to have helped sell this historic building as it enters the next phase of its life."
