Taylor Wessing has advised Portuguese genetics and cultivation company Terra Verde, on its acquisition by EMMAC Life Sciences Ltd (EMMAC), Europe’s leading independent medical cannabis and wellness company.
Terra Verde holds the oldest cannabis cultivation licence in Portugal. The acquisition establishes EMMAC as the largest vertically integrated cannabis company in Europe.
Corporate technology partner Josef Fuss commented: "Terra Verde's acquisition by EMMAC is a landmark deal in the medical cannabis and wellness market, creating the largest organisation of its type. Leveraging our considerable expertise in the international life sciences and technology sectors to advise on corporate matters, was fundamental to the success of this deal."
David Yarkoni, Founder of Terra Verde, commented: "Partnering with EMMAC will help us maximise Terra Verde’s potential to be the best cultivation facility in Europe. Taylor Wessing was integral in the process, offering a multidisciplinary approach to help get the deal over the line. We'd like to thank Josef and his team for all their hard work."
The Taylor Wessing team was led by partners Josef Fuss with support from associate Victor Chang and trainee Lucy Sharples (Corporate Technology).
