The AI Act has been published on 12 July 2024 in the EU Official Journal. First product safety in general ("GPSR"), now artificial intelligence in particular ("AI Act"): The rapid increase in AI applications has now been matched by EU product safety legislation. With the AI Regulation, the EU is creating a comprehensive legal framework for the placing on the market, commissioning and use of artificial intelligence ("AI"). The AI Regulation is intended to strengthen trust in AI, drive the development of innovations and ensure that the safety and fundamental rights of EU citizens are protected when using AI and that AI operations are sustainable. The AI Regulation is the world's first comprehensive AI regulation.
