E-residency for foreign individuals

On 1 July, the Ukrainian Government launched the policy project „E-Residency“.

This service is a unique project to make Ukraine more attractive for foreign business and foreign individuals.

Once in place, foreign individuals will be able to online:

• receive a Ukrainian qualified electronic digital signature;
• receive a registration number of the taxpayer's account card (TAX ID);
• open an account in a Ukrainian bank;
• gain simplified access to administrative services in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and other governmental bodies still need to prepare/amend a number of legal instruments (e.g. regarding the countries affected) and adopt/develop a number of regulations before the project can be implemented.  However, once completed, this will mean a further important step towards simplifying the “Doing business in Ukraine”.
