The end of room service?

According to a recent study, "67% of millennials would be more likely to make room reservations with hotels" that offer delivery services such as Deliveroo or Uber Eats. Recently there has been a boom in commercial partnerships between food delivery services and hotels which we have seen in Australia with both Travelodge and Adina. In the UK, Nadler, which has no Food & Beverage in its hotels, encourages guests to order from Deliveroo and UberEats and even Premier Inn now have a limited partnership with Just Eat. Will this trend mean budget and limited service hotels remove all F&B? Quite possibly. Upper upscale and luxury hotels on the other hand see that F&B can drive revenue – however, the smart operators know that in order to do so they need to bring in outside expertise, as Belmond did with their deal earlier this year with Adam Handling.
