Proptech looks set to change how buildings interact with employees

Proptech is throwing a gauntlet down for property developers and landowners, as the kind of tech smart buildings would love to incorporate, such as facial recognition or even mood monitoring software, is making employees uneasy. With more than half of UK workers genuinely fearing workplace surveillance, Clare Harman Clark considers how the framework of employment and data protection law will respond to the burgeoning prop tech industry. Can we genuinely create the kind of ethical environment that will respect individual rights and autonomy, alongside creating a more efficient (and more marketable) physical workplace?
