GDPR is in force: what next?

The GDPR comes into force and Taylor Wessing's Global Data Hub gets a new look

Taylor Wessing's Global Data Hub can help you get to grips with the ongoing obligations of the GDPR which comes into effect today, as does the UK's Data Protection Act 2018. We are delighted to unveil a fresh new look which should make site navigation even easier.

With around 50,000 visitors a month, our Global Data Hub consolidates analysis and expertise from our international data privacy team, providing you with a selection of resources to help you understand and comply with the GDPR and other data protection and cybersecurity requirements.

On the Global Data Hub, you will find:

  • Checklists – GDPR compliance checklists covering a broad range of issues including controller and processor obligations, breach reporting, SARs and privacy policies
  • Compliance tools – our Data Protection Guide is an interactive comparison tool allowing you to compare data protection regimes in over 50 jurisdictions. We also have GDPR tools around HR data, data exports and cybersecurity
  • Case studies – examples of how to apply the GDPR in business situations
  • Topical analysis – detailed analysis of the thorniest data privacy issues under the GDPR and internationally
  • News – we bring you regular updates of data privacy news, focusing on the UK and EU
  • Webinars – our regular webinars discuss a wide variety of data privacy issues from an international perspective. Our entire collection is available on the Global Data Hub

"For many businesses, the GDPR represents a complete shift in approach to data privacy, as they move from a 'tick-box' exercise to organisational change which puts data accountability at the heart of operations. Believing that 25 May represents a finish line you have now crossed is a dangerous option, particularly as technology develops and the public becomes increasingly tuned in to the value of and risk to their data assets. We hope you continue to enjoy our Global Data Hub content; we know some 50,000 of you do every month." - Vin Bange
