Margot is a counsel in the Intellectual Property practice group. She specialises in copyright-, trademark-, and design protection and advises high-profile clients in the life sciences sector on regulatory issues.
Margot is an expert in product design, medical devices and media law. Global pharmaceutical and life sciences clients trust her in guiding them to meet regulatory requirements. In addition, she advises on advertisement related topics, such as misleading and comparative advertising and labelling matters
As a skilled litigator, Margot will represent and guide you in complex disputes. She regularly litigates in both Dutch and international courts – including the Court of Justice of the European Union – and handles opposition and nullity proceedings before the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property (BOIP) and European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). Negotiating and drafting license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, collaboration agreements and R&D agreements is part of her daily activities.

We acted for a UK listed company on the theft of data and subsequent ransom of the company. We obtained an injunction against the hackers (PML v Persons Unknown) for the client, which was the first-time judgment had been obtained for a listed company against hackers in which anonymity was granted to the company in relation to the interim injunction and then on a permanent basis. The team co-ordinated the entire incident response, including instructing forensic IT and working heavily with UK cybercrime police.
