Taylor Wessing has provided legal advice to the owners of ROLAND Spedition, one of the largest owner-managed Austrian container operators for hinterland transportation, on the sale of a majority stake to Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG.
The sellers were advised by a team led by Taylor Wessing Vienna partner

The sale of ROLAND Spedition is by no means the first cooperation with Taylor Wessing: "We have already advised the clients comprehensively on several occasions over the past 15 years, including on corporate matters, competition law and data protection issues. We are very pleased that we were also able to provide legal support in this important step for the company," said Claudia Steegmüller about the deal.
The buyer was advised by a team led by the partners Heinrich Foglar-Deinhardstein and Mark Krenn of Cerha Hempel.
With an annual volume of around 130,000 TEU (20-foot standard containers), ROLAND Spedition, which was founded in 1982, makes a significant contribution to shifting traffic from road to environmentally friendly rail. The network extends across Central and Southern Europe and connects the seaports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Antwerp as well as Koper and Trieste with the hinterland.
