Our Liverpool office has won a prestigious regional award for its refurbishment of the Edward Pavilion at the Royal Albert Dock into a customised and flexible working space.
The British Council for Offices (BCO) annual regional awards, which took place last night (29 April) in Manchester, recognise only six winners in the North each year. Our Liverpool office won for the best office project up to 16,000 sq ft category.
Having opened the Liverpool office in 2018, we expanded into new premises at grade-one listed building Edward Pavilion in 2020. The work was completed by ADT Workplace, Hollis and designer Kin, creating a top tier working environment for our staff.
The BCO awards judges called the refurbished building “an inspiring space with an impressive, first-class overall finish”, favouring the office's varied workspace environment including casual meeting areas and spaces for quiet work alongside formal desks.
The BCO awards recognises the highest-quality building schemes and projects in the commercial office space for innovation, refurbishment and various other categories. Winners of the Northern regional awards will now be entered into the national BCO awards, which take place in October.
The win comes eight months after our Liverpool office was awarded Fit-out/Refurbishment of the Year at the Liverpool City Region's Property Awards 2021.
Commenting on the win Saleem Fazal, partner and head of our Liverpool office, said: "When we were looking for our permanent home after launching in Liverpool, it was a no-brainer to refurbish somewhere with our collective values in mind. We've always known our Edward Pavilion space is special and it's absolutely brilliant to see the BCO recognise our office with this award.
"I extend my heartfelt thanks to the judges as well as our collaborators on the project, ADT Workplace, Hollis and Kin, for their vision in Taylor Wessing's future of work to life."
