Taylor Wessing advises Game Seer on the financing of the game developer Lince Works

Game Seer Venture Partners GmbH (GSVP) acting as lead investor, has led a 3.5 million Euro financing round of the Spanish game developer Lince Works. GSVP’s investment is structured as a mezzanine financing instrument (venture debt). The international law firm Taylor Wessing, led by the Hamburg Partner Dr. Christian Gahr, provided legal advice to Game Seer Venture Partners GmbH on the structuring and negotiations of the financing. Further advice on Spanish law implications was provided by a team led by corporate partner Álvaro Mateo Sixto of the Spanish law firm Gómez-Acebo y Pombo, Madrid/Barcelona.

The indie studio Lince Works intends to use the capital from the financing round for the development and commercialisation of a previously unreleased game title. The game developer from Barcelona already had considerable success with its first game, Aragami, which achieved sales of around half a million.

Game Seer Venture Partners GmbH, formed in July 2019, is a German-based investment company with a focus on the gaming industry and particularly on providing early-stage financing to games developers and studios. GSVP states that until 2022, a total of 10 million Euros will be invested in games projects via growth financing.
