NRW.BANK.Spezialfonds GmbH & Co. KG, together with a private investor, has invested approximately ten million Euros in Butlers, an interior design chain. Taylor Wessing advised the NRW.BANK subsidiary on this financing transaction under the lead management of Dr. Ernst-Albrecht von Beauvais.
The Cologne-based trading company Butlers has filed for insolvency at the beginning of the year, but had successfully completed the insolvency in September. This enabled the company to restructure quickly. The vast majority of jobs have been preserved. Due to the investment of NRW.BANK.Spezialfonds GmbH & Co. KG and the private investor, a long-term restructuring is now financially possible. Butlers’ strongest shareholder remains founder and managing director Wilhelm Josten.
