Taylor Wessing today announced that it has appointed Kunal Vyas as a partner to its Private client team in London.
Kunal joins from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner where he acted for UK and international clients across the Private client spectrum including high net worth individuals, entrepreneurs, trustees, financial institutions, fund managers and funds.
Kunal has extensive expertise advising clients on a wide range of matters, particularly with a tax focus, including personal taxation, wealth planning and the establishment of asset holding structures. Kunal also acts for financial institutions, funds and family offices on matters relating to investment platforms, fund formation and incentive arrangements. Kunal’s breadth of experience allows him to provide a holistic approach when advising on the range of issues that clients may face.
In addition to becoming a partner in the Private client team, Kunal will be an integral new addition to the firm's international Private wealth group, which has been recognised as a market leader for many years. Taylor Wessing is one of the few international law firms able to provide clients with a fully integrated legal service that addresses the personal, business and investment needs of high net worth individuals. The group draws upon the expertise of over 50 partners, located across 32 offices and spanning 13 practice areas, all of who are well versed in handling the needs of high net worth individuals.
Kunal Vyas said: "Taylor Wessing has long been known as one of the go to firms for high net worth clients looking for top quality legal advice. While its pedigree speaks for itself, I find the vision and strategy for expansion for the Private client practice, in addition to the Private wealth sector focus, refreshing and motivational. I look forward to utilising this platform to explore exciting opportunities for growth."
Nick Warr, head of Taylor Wessing's international Private wealth group said: “Over the last six years, the international Private wealth group has gone from strength to strength. This has resulted in a client base which comprises highly sophisticated ultra high net worth individuals with very complex and international legal needs. More than 80% of our clients now have connections to more than one jurisdiction and as a result, a substantial proportion of the advice provided is cross border in nature and serviced by our Private wealth experts located across our international network. Kunal's experience in handling such matters will complement our existing skill set and help ensure we achieve the aspirations set for our team."
