We are delighted to announce that we have strengthened the Cambridge office with the arrival of Kim Wedral as employment partner. Kim joins from a leading international firm where she was head of their Innovate Employment group.
She has extensive experience providing holistic employment advice, particularly to those businesses and investors operating in the scale-up and growth space. The hire underscores our ongoing commitment to being a leading legal adviser in both the Golden Triangle* and to our international clients.
Kim's hire responds directly to increasing client demand for premium support in relation to employment advice and supports our ambitious international growth strategy. Kim has experience supporting tech and life sciences clients, and their investors, with global talent challenges, providing a holistic offering that encompasses global employment law (fundraising, M&A, expansion into new territories), complex domestic issues (founder and senior staff exits and disputes), HR strategic support and immigration matters.
She has extensive international exposure through her practice focused on overseas support - notably, global expansion for scaling clients and global mobility of staff and brings deep expertise in helping clients navigate employment challenges across multiple jurisdictions. Her established practice and strong market recognition demonstrate her ability to deliver premium employment solutions to innovation sector clients with complex international requirements.
Paul Callaghan, Head of the Employment, Pensions & Mobility UK, said:
"We're delighted to welcome Kim to the firm. Her impressive track record and leading market recognition will be invaluable, adding real strength to our employment practice. Our clients will benefit from her expertise in supporting tech and life sciences companies with their people challenges, perfectly complementing our market-leading position in these sectors."
Kim Wedral said:
"It's a great time to be joining Taylor Wessing, especially with the opportunity to build upon my established practice supporting tech and life sciences clients with their global talent challenges. The firm's market-leading position in these sectors and wide international coverage gives us a fantastic opportunity to develop our international employment platform. I'm looking forward to working with my new colleagues to provide cohesive solutions across the three core pillars of scaling innovation businesses - IP, capital and people, and to leverage my extensive network within the Golden Triangle to drive growth for the firm."
Shane Gleghorn, UK Managing Partner and Global Co-chair, added:
“We are delighted to see Kim join as we continue to invest in key areas for growth. Providing advice to investors and businesses operating within the tech and life sciences triangle of London, Cambridge and Oxford is a key area of growth for the firm."
